The initial long-range detection sensor for APT is a Long Range Radar System (LRRS) that acts as your navigational array while offering automatic target detection and warning. LRRS is a completely sealed, all-weather unit with the widest operating temperature range and highest Doppler resolution of any radar on the market. It provides centralized control over all other electronic detection and deterrence technologies within APT, with connectivity to optional GPS, digital compass, AIS and diver detection systems. LRRS provides continuous 360 degree scanning in azimuth (on the horizontal) with optional sector scanning, and uses patented algorithms for anti-jamming and sea- and land-clutter rejection. The system offers unmatched capability, performance, and years of maintenance-free operation to meet your navigation requirements.
LRRS scan rates are programmable from 0-48 degrees per second. When LRRS detects a target, the system will automatically direct the long-range camera for target identification and tracking. LRRS detects a single human at a range of 7km, and can be extended optionally to as much as 15km; using proprietary software, the system detects and differentiates small boats at long range even in rough weather and high seas. LRRS monitors all target activity in the coverage area and uses advanced software and filters to identify targets of interest, provide their speed and direction, and give ship personnel valuable time to evaluate and respond.
